Horsemanship Sessions
At Changing Tides Equine, our Groundwork & Horsemanship Program teaches participants how to safely handle, care for, and communicate with horses without riding.Through hands-on instruction and time spent working alongside our horses, participants develop practical horsemanship skills while learning to better understand equine behavior, body language, and communication.
No riding is involved. Our program focuses entirely on learning with horses from the ground.
What You'll Learn
Horse Care
Learn the fundamentals of caring for a horse, including grooming, feeding, grooming tools, daily routines, and basic barn management.
Equine Behavior & Communication
Learn how horses communicate through body language, facial expressions, movement, and behavior — and how our own body language affects them.
Safe Handling & Leading
Develop confidence working around horses while learning safe, respectful techniques for catching, haltering, leading, tying, and moving horses.
Groundwork
Practice exercises from the ground that encourage communication, focus, responsiveness, and trust between horse and handler.

Whether you're completely new to horses, returning to them after time away, or looking to strengthen your existing horsemanship skills, sessions are adapted to your experience, comfort level, and goals.

One-on-one instruction tailored to your individual experience and goals.
30 minute or 60-minute sessions
Small-group sessions provide an opportunity to learn alongside others while developing practical horsemanship and horse-care skills.
60-90 minute sessions
Special Classes & Workshops
Throughout the year, we may offer special classes and educational workshops covering topics such as horse care, equine behavior, animal health, and other aspects of responsible horse ownership and horsemanship.
